Newspoem is a Chrome extension that generates blackout poems from news articles. It runs entirely in your browser.
Newspoem does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It does not track your browsing history, reading habits, or any other information.
Newspoem uses Chrome's built-in sync storage to save your preferences (enabled/disabled state, poem word count, selection mode). This data stays within your Chrome profile and is never sent to any external server.
Newspoem makes zero network requests. All poem generation happens locally in your browser using a deterministic algorithm.
Storage: To save your preferences across sessions.
Tabs: To detect when you navigate to a supported news site.
Host permissions: To inject the blackout overlay on supported news sites only.
Newspoem shares no data with any third party.
